The design of the hair salon comprises of a delicate steel structure that connects the entrance level with a raised ground floor level and existing basement. The steel structure was designed to be "transparent" in certain areas and yet give privacy to spaces below. The steel pate of the stairs and platform was designed to appear as a continuously folded sheet.

The Parsons Scott salon was featured in the film "About a Boy".
